Java Developer Consultant

Rate: $50/c2c

Duration: 6+ months

Location: New York, NY

 

Job Purpose/Description:           

·         The person in this role will help reverse engineer code, develop documentation and diagrams (such as UML and process flow diagrams), standardize development environment, develop build and release automation, refactor code to remove unused configuration, libraries etc. and help with platform upgrade (such as helping with upgrading the app server or database).

·         Document step by step instructions to create a full development environment (prerequisites, how to install those, where is code, how to download code, configurations, which configurations to change and point to what machine/instance etc.)

·         Developer Guide (Containing things such as Overview of QTS architecture, UML diagrams as well as verbal descriptions of the flow, important components such as database access, fix, messaging and how they are structured, their lifecycle and processing logic, how and where to plug in new algorithms, what class structure to follow for such work, best practices etc.)

 

Expected Responsibilities:

 

·         Strong knowledge of Java/J2ee platform, and related tools such as Development tools (Eclipse) design/UML tools, profiling/tuning tools, build/deploy tools (ANT) etc.

·         Previous experience reverse engineering/refactoring code will be very helpful.

·         Experience with Java front end technologies such as Swing/Netbeans/Eclipse RCP is helpful.
